If I had to pick one color to be the main color for a new website, it would be blue. It gives the visitor a feeling of trust and that’s exactly what you need. Also, google ads’ default color is blue. People know blue text are most likely links to click on, so they click easier on those.

One of my content sites (lgthemes.net) reached 100 subscribers today. It gets an average of 300 visitors a day and I think it is time to ‘push it through’ in the rankings. For its main keyword (lg themes) it is ranking at place 1 currently. Unfortunately this is not a high traffic keyword.
Here comes the Google Adwords keyword tool in place. While doing some keyword research I found a lot of other keywords related to lg themes that were having more monthly searches than the main keyword (lg themes). I am now optimizing the website for those others (like lg cookie themes). It looks like people know what to search for and are not searching that much anymore for the generic term. They are more specific at their searches to find better results.
I see a rise in long tail keywords. People are more specific with their searches and know what they are looking for. In the past this was different.
Concentrate more on specific search terms and long tail keywords. Do your keyword research

I am talking about ideas for posts / sites / whatever. I just came back from school (ya, still doing school at 24), and had a great idea for a blog post here, I even thought about a catchy title! Now I am here, sitting behind my desk and guess what… Idea is completely gone! Damnit!
Write good ideas down immediately
Before you know it, you will not remember them. I hope it comes back in a sec, but I don’t count on that because I am heading forward to work on a couple of other sites with a totally different topic.
Don’t be a fool like me, write them down on paper, in your mobile, on your desk, whatever is in front of you

vBulletin 4.0.6
We updated the webmaster forum to vBulletin 4.0.6. Looking a lot better now and working faster.
New design
Imported a new design, designed for vBulletin 4.0.6. We wanted a smooth and clean look. Did we pass?
Modifications
Added some spam preventing mods, like no signature links below 10 posts. Also upgraded to the latest iTrader plugin. We even have an area where you can see recent trades, top traders and a hall of shame.

Make people subscribe to your site
Last week I added a line of text above my RSS subscribing button and mentioned that people should subscribe to stay updated (at one of my mobile sites). I didn’t know this had so many effect. The website is online for almost 1 year now and had around 80 subscribers. After this line of text (in bold), the number is already at 96. And next week will probably break into 100 + subscribers
