How to become a Trusted Website

Show search engines like Google and Bing that your website is trustworthy. This way you end up with higher rankings for your site. A few points on how to become a trusted website are listed below:

Get inbound links from seed sites or from sites that are linked from seed sites

These kind of sites are manually marked as trustworthy by search engine owners. For example, if adobe.com has been chosen as a seed website, a link from adobe.com will have a positive effect on the TrustRank of your website.

If adobe.com links to website X, website X links to website Y and website Y links to your website then your website will still get a good TrustRank, but less when it is direct.

Get an old domain name with a good domain history

If your domain has been online for several years, it is a signal for search engines that the website owner is serious about the site and it’s less likely that the domain is used for spamming purposes. Although, the domain name should not have changed the owner too often and it should not have been used for many different topics.

Get links from related websites

I am not going to discuss this one in further detail. ‘Get links from related websites’ is complete.

Don’t link to spam websites

This one is pretty clear to, you shouldn’t link to spammy websites or to sites with dubious quality. If you do, you show the search engines that you support them and this is not good for your trust.

Get links from social networks

If your website is mentioned on social media websites, the more likely it is that your website is trustworthy.

Create good content and stay away from certain topics

It is easier to get a good trustrank if you have many pages that contain great content about a special topic. Stay away from spammy topics though.

The bottom line

If search engines trust your website, it is much easier to get high rankings.

Good points, At this point I am working on the social media link thing… Hope to get some good votes and reach a front page listing. That would be cool

A frontpage listing is indeed very nice to get Eve!

Create that out of the box content and you will be there :) Keep me updated if you succeed

Social media helps a lot. If your site is trully unique and many people tend to like it, not only it will get you backlinks from social media but a lot of social media traffic as well. I get quite a bit traffic from del.icio.us from one of the sites just because it is pretty much the only tool of its kind out there. :) You probably know what site that is. :)
Good points, as for posts about specific topic, what topics do you mean, what are a few examples and why? :)

I get most of my traffic from stumble upon on 1 of my sites, but its not really alot though.

About the specific topics. I mean if you write about all kind of mobiles you won’t get an easy trustrank. If you write only about Nokia for example, you are getting a trustrank faster. Because you are more specialized.

About staying away on certain topics. Don’t make to much posts about acai shit for example, hehe

Interesting… So even critisizing acai spam can hurt you then? :)
