I never sold a site that makes $ in adsense, but thinking about it all the time. :) I only think about selling one when I know that there is no more room for growth. Once it is fully optimized, all the features are in place and I am pretty sure that I would be making the same amount next month as I made this month I think it's time to sell. I remember 3 years ago when I just started and was making $5 a month from my first site, I thought it would be nice to make that much a day. 3 years later I make 6-10 times that a day and now going for a goal of $100 a day by the beginning of 2010... Hard to get to the target when working, but having a goal definetely helps. :) Good goal. :) 1000 is a good number.
