Setting Goals

It is a long time ago when I setted up plans and goals for websites. At this moment I am working without a decent plan to follow. I know this is not the smartest thing to do because I am not working towards something. This is slowing me down for sure.

Setting Goals

A bit late, but here is my goal for 2009: I want to earn $1000 a month from my content websites by the end of 2009. I have 3 months left to succeed. It will be a hard goal to get, but going for it 100%.

How am I going to do this?

  • Updating my sites frequently
  • Getting higher rankings in search engines
  • Monetizing websites with more than only adsense
  • Finding new ways to make money online
  • Work harder

I know making $1000 a month is not easy, but it is not impossible either. Chris for example is doing very nice figures with his travel sites, this makes $1000 a month look like an easy task but it certainly is not.

Do you set goals for your websites?

Good goal. :) 1000 is a good number. I remember 3 years ago when I just started and was making $5 a month from my first site, I thought it would be nice to make that much a day. 3 years later I make 6-10 times that a day and now going for a goal of $100 a day by the beginning of 2010… Hard to get to the target when working, but having a goal definetely helps. :)

$100 a day is also a very nice goal! You will reach it Rasim! I am pretty sure :)

I have the bad habit of selling sites that make good money on adsense, I should stick on it

Yeah, selling makes you more right away though. I never sold a site that makes $ in adsense, but thinking about it all the time. :) I only think about selling one when I know that there is no more room for growth. Once it is fully optimized, all the features are in place and I am pretty sure that I would be making the same amount next month as I made this month I think it’s time to sell. It may be a good revenue, but depends on the niche too… :) If I have interest in it, I usually still do it. :)
Howcome there is no adsense or any type of ads on your blog? :)

Don’t think it will work at this point Rasim. First build a good audience :) Need subscribers

You are right about selling when you got the max out of it… :)

I see. Well, I usually plug in adsense once I get 20 uv a day. :) Never hurt to get an extra couple hundred before you build subscribers. :)

True, but I don’t think 20 UV will bring in an extra couple hundred :) It is getting around 50 UV now…
