If I am creating a new website in a new niche, the first thing I do is check on competition. I check the first page in google.com and check different factors like backlinks, on page monetization etc. Domain renewal date is also a factor in the SEO business. Lot of people do not know this, but it is true.
Google is checking over 200 factors at every site and after that it gives your site a rank (it is not only about backlinks). Ofcourse it is not simple and it will take time to rank, but every factor helps.
For sites that I am planning to rank high for, I do a standard 2 year registration, it only is 7 dollar or something to register your name for an extra year. This way google knows that you are serious about your site and that it will still be here over 1 year from now.
Google gives you more trust, so it gives you a higher rank!
Really? Never thought of this, but if you look at it like that, it seems obvious that this is counting… Cheers!
Hm, great idea. Didn’t think that it would be a factor. I always buy mine for 1 year, I guess it’s time to invest a few $ on the additional time…
I did hear this before! Good you are pointing it out again
I don’t do it for all either though, but if im really trying to rank high with one, I put some extra years on it
