I actually recommend going for around 2 to 3 keyword phrases for a post. However, I also believe that using one of these keyphrases as the central keyphrase is also a useful idea. By using multiple keyphrases you're opening your chances of getting a wider diversity of traffic from search engines such as Google. If you're going for a keyword phrase it's also recommended that you try to get one with lower competition. This will not only make life easier for you when you're trying to develop your website, in most cases the CPS rates for programs like AdSense will be higher.
