In my opinion I believe it brings tons of value to your content when you read other blogs, even better, commentate on those blogs and be a part of the community. Now in no way am I suggesting that you shouldn't update your blog. In fact, my personal recomendation is that you update at least once daily to keep your readers entertained. Managing your time between writing for yourself and writing on others blogs is key to throwing yourself ahead of other bloggers and your competition.
